Re-Alignmentality, one of more than 20 short films selected for a special kick-off party screening on the theme of  Metamorphosis.

I’m so excited for this opportunity to share my first foray (and not my last!) into animation and projection mapping. Created earlier this year in collaboration with Topher Shapes and Jasna Boudard, our piece was selected for a special screening by curator Claudia Zapata. The video documents Re-Alignmentality, an animation we created in 3D using VR, which we projection-mapped onto a set of my sculptural works. The piece honors the flowing waters of the San Marcos River and the time-altering moment of totality during the solar eclipse. Big Medium will continue to show the selected videos their gallery during the West Austin Studio Tour weekend Nov. 9-10.

Join me at my Artist Parents & Caregiver Community studio.

We are at Good Dad Studios on the northbound I-35 frontage road just before Oltorf. I’ll have new paintings on display, some video work, and will be sharing about my ongoing residency at the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve.

I also have artwork in both Art for the People’s gallery, which is at the front of the building complex. Stop by to see their fun and engaging group show, Revelry. Then head into Good Dad and check out the Muse Gallery for a sampling of work by all the artists in the studio complex. Grab a drink, get oriented, then join me in studio P23 for some art and conversation. Meet our current Artist Parent Resident and see works from all the artists who have used the space to explore their practice.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on the trails at the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve and Creative Research Center. As the fall artist in resident I’m exploring the ways that research is leading to a more nuanced understanding of the relationship between flora and fauna. I’m also having so much fun experimenting with materials. I’m working with porcelain, glass, gouache and oil pastel, as well as stop motion animation. I’ll be sharing more in early December before my residency exhibition opens on the 8th.
