Lessons from the Trails
This year has been filled with unexpected joy and frustration. In the midst of these ups and downs, I remained grateful for my art practice. The work I’ve created this year was not what I’d planned or imagined. And it has been important to my ongoing development as an eco artist. Accepting the unknowns as part of the process; learning from nature despite, or maybe because of, life’s challenges.
Life is Full
Re-Alignmentality, a projection mapped 3D animation collaboration by Alicia Philley, Topher Sipes, and Jasna Boudard. Big Medium and guest curator Claudia Zapata selected this and 20 other video artworks to project in the George Washington Carver Museum theater during the Austin Studio Tour kick off event. The metamorphosis-themed exhibition will also show during the West Austin Studio Tour weekend, Nov. 9-10, at Big Medium’s gallery off S. Congress.
“The Dispersals” alighting for the Austin Studio Tours
All Austin Studio Tours, three locations to discover “The Dispersals.” Abstract art, color and nature continues to grow in my studio practice as I expand into work about Texas native prairies, pollinator food sources and ways to bring both to your home.
