Studio Tours and Shifting Seasons on the Trail

A cold front gusted through Austin last weekend

I watched the yellowing “fall” leaves thin out along the Woodland Trail, revealing more of my sculptural paintings.

Missed viewing my installation during the West portion of Austin Studio Tours? Don’t worry, it’s still here!

The extended timeline for the exhibition is an important aspect of the project. The cycles of death, dormancy and rebirth create a changing experience of the work itself. Our perception of colors change with the shifting light and seasonal growth. Some artworks, previously hidden from view by leafy trees, have begun to emerge. The winter light will heighten the glow of reflective and color-shifting paint. Come spring, the bright budding branches will create new surprises. Walk the trail more than once if you can to witness the constant of change.

Visit The Seeds We Plant this holiday season

Time spent outdoors—surrounded by art and nature—can lift your spirits and create opportunity for connection and conversation. If you’re interested in a private tour, please contact me about meeting at the Wildflower Center. I love talking about the journey to realizing my first outdoor installation, the creation process, how the setting inspired me, and I will answer any questions you have as we walk along the Woodland Trail. Or plan a visit on your own to recharge. Use the onsite QR code to stream a guided walking meditation.
